Components and Installation
Explore each component and the simple installation process of ES150 Electric Steering.
Steering Actuator
The Steering Actuator is the core of ES150 Electric Steering, delivering fast, smooth and precise control of the outboard engine. With just 3 seconds from hard-over to hard-over and an integrated potentiometer providing continuous position feedback, it ensures agile manoeuvring and accurate engine positioning. Built for demanding marine environments, its sealed shaft and corrosion-resistant materials ensure durability and low maintenance requirements.
Steering Helm
The Steering Helm translates steering wheel movements into precise actuator commands, ensuring a smooth and balanced steering feel. With a 4-turn lock-to-lock steering ratio, it provides accurate and intuitive control of the outboard engine. An integrated LED indicator provides system feedback during start-up and shutdown, while the industry-standard ¾-inch tapered shaft ensures compability with a wide range of steering wheels.
Connection Box
The Connection Box serves as the central connection point of ES150 Electric Steering, managing power distribution and communication between the system components. Integrated EMC filtering helps reduce electromagnetic interference, supporting reliable communication and consistent system performance.
Installation and setup
ES150 Electric Steering is designed for quick and straightforward installation with minimal complexity. The Steering Helm is mounted at the helm station, while the Steering Actuator is attached directly to the outboard engine using the supplied mounting hardware. Both components connect to the Connection Box through their pre-fitted cables, with a separate power cable connecting the system to the boat's power supply. With a plug-and-play design and no hydraulic pumps or hoses required, installation is simple and effective.
A complete steering system
ES150 Electric Steering comes as a complete system, including the Steering Actuator, Steering Helm and Connection Box. All essential installation hardware and cables are supplied, including 4-metre cables from the Steering Actuator and Steering Helm to the Connection Box, and a 4-metre power cable. An emergency steering kit is also included for safekeeping on the boat, providing alternative means of steering if neeeded.
